About Josh:

Josh Logan is a filmmaker with a unique voice, set of skills, and a deep understanding of every stage of the creative process - making him an ideal director for brands who wish to truly stand out.

Fascinated by the blend of art and technology, Josh began his career creating special makeup effects. He honed his craft on groundbreaking projects in the 90’s—contributing to films such as The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Dentist, Halloweentown, and Virus as well as the Wishmaster and the Species franchise, featured many times on the cover of Fangoria magazine.

Transitioning from practical to visual effects, Josh expanded his creative toolbox on major Hollywood projects. He spent nearly two years developing and producing the makeup and visual effects on Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ, later leading VFX on The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Apocalypto, establishing a reputation for creative storytelling that skillfully integrates technology and artistry.

Exploring further aspects of filmmaking, Josh has also composed scores and served as a sound designer on projects such as Tsui Hark’s Black Mask 2 and Vampire Hunters, adding a distinctive emotional layer to his work.

Drawing on decades of hands-on experience, Josh excelled as a post-production supervisor on major films for Scott Free, Netflix, New Line, Searchlight, Black Bear, and numerous Sundance projects. His meticulous oversight has helped shape notable titles including Cyrus, Cedar Rapids, Sound of My Voice, Ruby Sparks, Stoker, The Way Way Back, Enough Said, The Circle, Earthquake Bird, Downhill, Do Revenge, and Annabelle.

Josh’s directorial work is a culmination of his versatility. He made his feature directorial debut with Family on Lifetime, followed by the multi-award-winning short Lunch Ladies—selected by over 200 film festivals worldwide—and the cosmic creature feature The Relic, which earned top honors at major genre festivals. He is now developing The Relic into a feature film franchise, with his latest, The Relic: Dragon, currently in post-production.
